Fall Retreat Frequently Asked Questions
Should I go if I don't really know anyone else who is going?
Definitely! The focus of the Fall Retreat is getting connected within Frontline and growing spiritually, and there will be many different opportunities to meet new people during the weekend. Also, there will be plenty of activities you can join in on and meet other Frontliners.
It looks like there is some time spent in meetings. Will I enjoy myself if I have to spend that time inside?
While the Fall Retreat is an awesome time to relax, it is also an opportunity for you to spend quality time with Christ and to learn more about Him. You will be challenged in the general sessions to further your personal relationship with Jesus.
What if I'm not sure about my faith? Am I still welcome to attend? Will I feel out of place among the others that attend?
The Fall Retreat is a great place for people discovering their faith. By spending time in this environment with other followers of Christ, it can help you sort out your thoughts. And the keynote speakers always bring incredible messages that will encourage you as think about your spiritual questions.
I would like to get baptized at the Fall Retreat. What do I need to do?
There will be a required baptism meeting at the church for those who wish to be baptized at the retreat. This class is intended to show why Frontline of Mclean Bible Church practices baptism. We will take a look at what the act of baptism is and what the Bible says about it. We will also look at some common misconceptions about baptism and discuss what God desires a follower of Christ to understand about baptism. For more information on Frontline baptism CLICK HERE.
Are there a lot of costs in addition to the registration fee?
The only additional costs will be transportation costs getting to, and returning from the retreat, money for dinner while you are driving up on Friday (although if you get to the retreat by 7:00pm on Friday, we will be serving pizza), and lunch after the retreat is over on Sunday. All other meals will be provided. There is a store on the property if you would like to bring additional funds for personal purchases.
Can I bring friends who are not currently attending Frontline?
Yes, provided they are at least 18 years of age. We are excited for Frontliners to bring friends to hear about Christ and how to start a relationship with Him or how to grow in their faith.
How many people will be in a room?
Most of the rooms at Rockbridge are set up dorm style with bunk-beds, so that you do not have to share a bed with someone else. There will be 8 – 14 people in each room depending on the capacity of the room.
Is Rockbridge nice?
Rockbridge is a wonderful facility in a beautiful setting and is large enough that we will be able to hold all of our events there. For more information CLICK HERE.
I'm not really a water sports person. Would there be anything for me to do on Saturday afternoon?
There are lots of activites to do at the facility. Be sure to check out a full listing of all the activities available.
What do I need to bring to the retreat?
Clothes: shorts, jeans, shirts, sweater or jacket (it tends to be cold at night), sneakers, flip-flops
Modest swimsuit
Toiletries
Bible and a pen or pencil
Miscellaneous: camera, suntan lotion, beach towel, pocket change
A good attitude and an open mind!
Can I get accommodations elsewhere and still attend the sessions?
While we understand the desire to help us allow other people to go, it is not possible due to the limited seating in the conference room. Because of this, only those that register for the Fall retreat will be able to attend the sessions.
Are there scholarships available?
There are a limited number of scholarships available. To make a request for a scholarship CLICK HERE. If you apply for a scholarship please do not register until you have heard whether your scholarship has been accepted. We will hold a spot for you to register until you have been notified whether your scholarship application has been accepted.
