Pete Berlin
UMD Campus Director
Live for Christ’s fame! That phrase became my motto in college. My best memories from college revolve around being a promotional team leader for The Gathering at George Mason University. I made sure everyone knew The Gathering existed on campus to impact students with the message of Jesus Christ. Making God’s name famous on a secular campus was my passion and my daily life. Born in Fairfax, raised in Manassas, I have been in Northern Virginia my entire life. Following my graduation from GMU, I attempted to use my Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice to pursue a career in federal law enforcement. However, I encountered some roadblocks that led me to consider applying to the Future Leaders Program. After much prayer and inner debate, I decided that God had called me to take on a full-time ministry position. As a Future Leader, I am a Campus Director for the Gathering at University of Maryland. I now equip students to lead ministries on campus and foster a community of students who love God and love others. I am quickly realizing that I have the best job in the world!

Hannah Bloomquist
Frontline Tysons Future Leader
I completed my Bachelors Degree at Moody Bible Institute in Women’s Ministry Interdisciplinary in Bible/Theology. Through the impact of my classes, professors, and community at Moody the Lord opened a deep love for ministering to women in the body of Christ through the teaching of his Word, mentoring and discipleship. The Lord directed my steps to the Future Leader Program, where I am currently serving with Frontline Tyson’s in the Connect Teams Ministry. My desire is to be a faithful Berean of the Word of God, and to let my life exemplify the Gospel.

I am awed and inspired by the passion of the MBC and Frontline Small Groups staff. I consider myself to be extremely blessed to be a part of this team and a part of the plan that God has for this ministry.

Scott Clattenburg
George Mason University Campus Director
I grew up northwest of Baltimore, MD but made my way to the Northern Virginia area by way of The University of Maryland. My current role within Frontline is to lead and develop students on the campus of George Mason University. We have a weekly service as well as small groups and plenty of other ministry opportunities for students. I’m very excited about this role because God used my time in college to show me the love of Christ in unknown ways and set me on my course for vocational ministry.

Mekdes Haddis
Director of Women’s Discipleship & Ministry
I was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I grew up watching my mother who showed me the ways of the Lord and set a high standard of what it means to live for Christ. With a passionate heart to live for the Lord and do big things for His kingdom, I came to the U.S. and joined Liberty University where I received a degree in Communication Studies. Even though I’ve sensed a call to full time ministry early on, I never dared to pursue it fully. After a lot of prayer and complete support from my now husband, God opened up the door for me to join MBC in full time ministry. I am working at Frontline Silver Spring with Women’s Discipleship and Ministry Development. My desire is to love and serve God’s people and give all that I’ve been given freely to the best of my abilities and make disciples that will do the same for His glory.

Nick Jones
American University Campus Director
Originally from the DC/Maryland area, my family and I moved when I was very young and I did most of my growing up in Savannah, Georgia. I found Christ at an early age and also developed a strong love for music and pursuing it to some capacity one day. I ended up attending Liberty University in Lynchburg Virginia in the fall of 2005 and decided I wanted to pursue music, but my motives were originally in the wrong place. I ended up declaring my major in Worship and Music Ministry, and even though I had no desire whatsoever to work in a church, through different circumstances the Lord placed the love that He has for the local church inside my own heart. I graduated in the spring of 2009 and am anticipating what the Lord does while I serve at Frontline!

Rachel McCullough
Frontline Arlington Director of Women's Ministry
I am originally from Georgia, and am definitely a southern girl at heart. After graduating from Liberty University with a degree in Business Marketing I moved to the DC area in 2009. All through college I thought the corporate world was exactly what I wanted and I couldn’t wait to jump in. Soon after beginning work at Nordstrom I realized it wasn’t where the Lord was calling me but rather I was following my own dreams, apart from Him. I am now working with Women’s ministry at Frontline Arlington and am excited to get women plugged into a biblical community. I have seen over the past year of my life how important it is to be in fellowship with other believers and can’t wait to get people connected.

Lidia Rosas
Gathering UMD Associate Director
Currently I am the Associate Director for the Gathering at the University of Maryland as well as the Coordinator for Kid’s Quest at Frontline. Within The Gathering my primary role is to lead and disciple the student leadership team and the student community. Having graduated from Maryland, I have a big heart for the campus and its students. I desire for the Lord to be made known on our campus and for students to understand how much the Lord loves them. There is a huge population of students who don’t know that and I pray the Lord will use The Gathering community to share the gospel with them. I also have the privilege of serving the families of our congregation by coordinating our children’s ministry. It’s exciting to be a part of what God is doing in Silver Spring and on Maryland’s campus!

Julie Sagaard
Frontline Tysons Regional Communities
I grew up in the wonderful state of New Jersey but ended up in Virginia to attend college at Liberty University. Being in an environment and community with other believers was a great encouragement to become part of the ministry opportunities they had available. Through being a part of student leadership on campus, I realized that ministry was something that I wanted to pursue and continue in. When I heard about the Future Leaders Program through MBC, I was so excited for an opportunity to learn more of how to be effective through ministry while getting a chance to be a part of it at the same time. I feel blessed to have gone through the program and to be able to continue participating in the mission of our church and know that throughout it, I will learn how to better love people, serve people and live out the Gospel in wherever the Lord has me.

George Mason University Campus Director
I grew up in Homer, NY for 17 years and then moved out to Ohio to attend Cedarville University. I graduated in May with degrees in Communication, Bible and Women’s Ministry. The summer between my junior and senior year in college, I heard about McLean Bible and the Future Leaders Program. The LORD led me to apply here and I got accepted to work with the Gathering at George Mason University. It has been so encouraging to see how Jesus has led me each step of the way to bring me to where I am today! The goal of my life is to know Jesus and to make Him known and I love that I get to do that every day here at McLean.
