Serve Locally
Frontline has a number of ministries that reach out to the community of the Washington, DC area. Below are serving opportunities that are available to all Frontline attendees, regardless of campus. You are welcome to check out the websites and email the contacts listed to volunteer.
Each campus has additional local serving opportunties, both ongoing and one-time opportunities, that are specific to their campus. Check them out at Tysons, Arlington, Silver Spring, or Prince William to serve in your community.
REGIONAL COMMUNITIES
The PRIMARY way we serve and share the gospel in our local communities is through Regional Communities. Click here to find out more information on how to get involved in one!
Event Based Service Opportunities
Pretty & Polished is a volunteer group that goes into area nursing homes around Valentine’s Day, gives the residents simple manicures and shares the love of Christ through the simple act of touch. It is amazing what a little polish and some encouragement can do to completely change the day–and even the life–of an elderly woman who feels forgotten and unattractive. Want to get involved? Contact Nina at prettyandpolished@mcleanbible.org.
Turkey Outreach at McLean Bible Church and Frontline packs and distributes Thanksgiving dinners each year in order to foster ongoing, Gospel-centered relationships with local families in need. Each year we work with close to 50 organizations to feed over 5,000 families. Volunteers are needed to pack and deliver Turkey boxes on the day of the outreach.
Angel Tree is our annual Christmas outreach where we partner with close to 10 McLean Bible Church ministries and Christian organizations in the DC area. The gifts from Angel Tree go to help low income families in the DC area. Volunteers are needed to give gifts and to help sort the gifts, collect gifts in the lobby and coordinate deliveries. Information on this outreach is available each November.
Ongoing Service Opportunities
P.I.E.(Pizza Intercession Evangelism) is monthly street evangelism team that goes to Adams Morgan to hand out tracts and share the Gospel. They exist to remind, equip and mobilize Christians to share their faith. Pizza, a devotional and instructions are provided before going out in groups to pass out tracts in DC. Email evangelism.frontline@gmail.com for more information and for a schedule of upcoming outings.
DayBreak transforms families by equipping and empowering youth in Lincoln Heights, DC to live as fully devoted followers of Christ. Volunteers are needed for Saturday Vacation Bible School outreaches, special events, the after school program, and the mentoring program.
The House transforms and empowers the lives of inner-city DC youth and their families. Volunteers are needed to tutor, coach, fundraise, and work on building renovations.
City Impact is the umbrella ministry that supports all new outreach opportunities that McLean Bible Church partners with. These ministries rely on volunteers to reach their community.
